Challenge Park Xtreme (CPX) Celebrates 5th Anniversary with New Fields, New Paint and New Owners.
Joliet, Illinois, October 10, 2005
Since first opening in October 2000, Challenge Park Xtreme has been known as the "Disney Land" of paintball. This 6 million dollar extreme sports theme park has shattered the mold of traditional paintball fields. From it's hyper-realistic playing fields, such as the town of Bedlam, a two-story, 10 block town complete in every detail, and the post-apocalyptic town of Armageddon, to the themed woods fields and the fast pace of Netwerks, there's something for everyone. When the original owner, paintball giant Brass Eagle, was purchased by K2 Inc. late in 2003, an opportunity to reshape the park into a family owned business began to take form. Ray Dagnino, the park's General Manager since 2001, acquired the business in June 2004 and completed the purchase of the property and all assets in June 2005. "I've been involved in this park for over 4 years now and as I look back on it, a classic song comes to mind: "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been" says Dagnino. "Being a working field owner has changed my perspective. I take my guidance from listening to my customers, my employees, and industry legends" he continued. One of the results of that feedback has been the addition of 2 new fields, Air Ball and Hyper Ball, both lighted for night play. The park has also brought new merchandise lines into the Pro Shop and now features the highly popular Diablo paintballs as it's field paint. Commenting on this new supply agreement, a Diablo Paintballs representative said "Having the chance to feature our product at such a high profile venue really pleases us and Challenge Park Xtreme's confidence in us reinforces the fact that Diablo is, and always will be, a ball held to the strictest standards in the game." Adding new fields, new products, and new partnerships is part of the game plan to ensure Challenge Park Xtreme maintains it's position at the top of the list of Premier parks in the industry. "It's important to keep pace with the changing wants and needs of the players. We're constantly trying to reach out to new customers and regain all of those who were troubled by our previous corporate image. Paintball is a dynamic business, the players want us to be consistent while still being open to change" concluded Dagnino.
Players are invited to experience CPX's 143 acre extreme sports park featuring paintball, mountain biking, bmx biking, skateboarding, and more, Wednesday through Sunday year round.
